Bhs Rolling Retail-J to 186 Stores
 EPOS and Store Systems Change Programme

Bhs is replacing its EPOS in a major programme of work to upgrade and significantly enhance the capabilities of its store systems. The retailer has chosen Retail-J's online Point of Service, Store Back Office and Estate Manager as a strategic platform to support future plans including deployment to all store formats, POS and other devices with rollout now well underway to all of the company's stores.

Retail-J will run Bhs' cash and wrap POS, cafe POS, customer service registers and a host of Back Office applications - all from Estate Manager at head office. The company's investment in Retail-J provides a platform for new initiatives such as kiosks, gift registry and queue busting if required, helping the fashion and homewares retailer to deliver on its promise of a great shopping experience for its customers.

Bhs has leveraged the rich function of the Retail-J core package which has mitigated the need for a programme of extensive developments. With a large community of users contributing to the product's ongoing development, Bhs also benefit from new product enhancements that span the breadth of the system's function.

The software is being deployed on a Microsoft Windows platform in the stores, and Retail-J's online central management suite, Estate Manager, has been integrated to Retek at head office. Retail-J's use of open systems technology and support for a wide range of industry standard database, application server and other products gives Bhs an ideal choice between performance, cost and future-proofing.
